Marius was sitting in the teachers lounge, trying to clear his head. He had pulled his wedding ring from his pocket and had been twirling it in the fingers of his left hand, thinking back on the time he spent with Akhara. He had been thinking about her more and more since being back at the school, even though he thought it would help him clear his mind to be busy with something. A tear had fallen from his left eye, and he was glad no one was around at the time to see it.

Gwen was at the school that day checking up on the Hufflepuff Quidditch team and than was looking for her mum. She had looked all over the school but no luck finding her. She popped her head into the teachers lounge and saw Marius sitting there. She hadnt really seen him in a long time. "Hi Marius." They knew eachother and eachothers families of course but never really talked to much, but she was older now and aot wiser and thought it might be nice to say hi.

Marius looked up and wiped the tear from his cheek. "Hello, didn't expect anyone to come in. How are you?" he asked, trying to be polite.

"The teaching is very rewarding," Marius said with a sigh. "Being back in the castle is bringing back memories though. At least we didn't have memories in this room." He waved his hand around the staff room.

Gwen laughed. "I am surprised you never snuck in here back in the day." She was trying to make light of it. Gwen sat down next to him and put a hand on his arm. "Things are tough but they will get better. And you have your son to think about." She gave a small smile.

"Are you kidding? With my father?" Marius asked with a slight smile. He shook his head and ran a hand through his hair and then wiped it on his trouser leg. "If he had caught us in here, we would have been punished worse than we were when he found out about Lucius. Good thing he grew to love the little guy though. My main concern is he's looking more and more like me with every day, poor kid."

Gwen laughed. "Most fathers like it when there son takes after them. And he looks like a Snap which is what he should look like." She smiled. "I remember one time Oliver and I snuck in here cause mom had made some fresh cookies at home and we wanted them. We almost go caught but got out just in time. And if my memory is correct I think it was your father that almost caught us. Oh I think we would have died." She laughed again. "So I guess I can see why you never snuck in. Which I bet you still have to look over your shoulder thinking your da might yell at you." Gwen smiled.

"Yeah, my dad is pretty scary," Marius said with a smile. "I just fear that Lucius will get the Snape-curse when it comes to his hair, poor kid." He was glad that he had someone his age to talk to, it had been way too long. "I can't wait for the day he starts Hogwarts himself. I wonder sometimes what house he'll be in. Will he take after his mother and me or will he take after his Uncle Julius? I'm hoping he takes after Julius to be honest, Ravenclaw is a fine house."

Gwen laughed when Marius mentioned his hair. "Well maybe he will get a mix of your hair and his mums and be lucky." It was nice to hear a Snape say that a class other than Slytherin was a good house. "Julian is your brother right?" She raised her eyebrows. "I still get lose sometimes, even with my own family." She laughed. "So are you enjoying teaching? Katie is thinking of taking over for mum since she hasn't been spending too much time at the ministry lately. She has wanted to help with the Dante Case but they havent put her on it as of yet."

"I thought for the longest time I might get my mum's hair, but the Snape curse lives on." Marius was finding it easy to talk to Gwen and put his wedding band in his pocket. "What did your mother do at the ministry?"

"Aww well I don't think you would be Marius without that hair of yours." Gwen laughed and than bit her lip. "Oh I sorry. I must have said that wrong. My mum works here but she is ready to retire and all and Katie, my sister works part time for the ministry as an Auror. Well she did for a little while. She wanted to get more serious into it but she got all caught up in Quidditch and now our mum wants her to take over the teaching position here at the school. Katie isn't sure what to do."

"I guess I am. Of course, not too many people get to know my dad too well, he's been hurt so much in the past that he doesn't let anyone too close. Wish he would get over that, he really is a nice guy," Marius said with a sigh. "Akhara was lucky, she got to know him well, loved him as much as she loved her own father. I still miss her sometimes, she was taken too soon."
